Also wenn du Regeln haben willst dann
Rules of SlamBall

Court & Equipment

The game of SlamBall is to be played on a court that is 94’ long by 55’ wide. Each end of the court has four identical trampolines built into it. The trampolines are rectangular in shape with the string bed measuring 7’ by 14’. A plexi-glass wall that measures 8’ surrounds the court. Playable game space will extend behind the baskets, whose furthest point from the basket will measure 10’. The rims are 10’ high.

Gear & Equipment

Players are to wear protective gear at all times. The gear consists of padded helmets, elbow pads, kneepads and various custom padded undergarments.

TEAM COMPOSITION

There are eight players per team. Four players from each team are allowed to be on the court at one time.

BOUNCE OFF

Each half will begin with a bounce off, which is an inverse tip-off. The ball must reach its apex uninterrupted. During the ball’s descent players may check each other.

SUBSTITUTION

SlamBall utilizes a hockey-like system of substitutions that occur during play without a stoppage of the clock. The exiting player must be within 5’ of his own team box before a new player can enter live play.

SLAMZONE REGULATIONS

The SlamZone is the area that houses the four trampolines and the island. Defender cannot follow offensive player into the SlamZone.

When offensive player is airborne from the floor entering the SlamZone, no contact by defender may be made. (As soon as the offensive players back foot leaves the floor entering the trampoline any contact by the defender will result in a face-off.) Any close call will go to the offensive player.

Even if a defender is holding position, he cannot draw a charge once the offensive player is airborne.

Offense cannot enter SlamZone after loose ball. The can retrieve ball only if they are already in the SlamZone. (Penalty results in change of possession.)

Defenders challenging on a dunk attempt must make a play on the ball; they cannot attack the body. Illegal contact includes sideswiping at body. (Personal foul called, possible flagrant - resulting in a face-off.)

Defensive players in the bottom tramp are not limited to the 2-bounce rule. If desired they may maintain a continuous bounce.

Defenders in the bottom trampoline must jump straight up and down. Defenders may not drift outside framework of the bottom trampoline. (Personal foul called resulting in a face-off.)

Popcorn: Defender may not disturb the natural flow of an offensive player’s bounce in or out of the trampoline.) (Personal foul called result in a face-off.)

There is absolutely no contact on the trampoline bed.

Offensive player cannot attack the bottom trampoline directly with the ball; Players may only attack the bottom trampoline with the ball when receiving a pass from a perimeter trampoline, while going into the bottom trampoline. (Penalty results in a change of possession.)

Two players from the same team may not be on any trampoline bed at the same time. (Penalty results in change of possession.)

A player is allowed only one bounce in and out of a trampoline. A second bounce is awarded only if the player is making a play on the ball or on the rim. Examples of a play on the ball are the following (dunk attempts, lay-up attempts, jump shots, and passing. (Penalty results in a change of possession.)

When a player is exiting a trampoline the opposing player MUST allow the player to land. Contact is not allowed when players are exiting the trampoline.

Defenders may goal tend shots taken from the trampoline. Shots taken from the floor may not be goal tended. If a ball is goal tended from the floor the basket will count. A defender may block a shot from the floor if they reach the ball before it reaches its apex.

ISLAND

The area between the trampolines where a player can momentarily establish position to move the ball in an offensive set, or to stop short in the SlamZone to move in a different direction. There is no contact on the island; if a defender makes contact with an offensive player on the island the result will be a face-off. Defenders may not draw a charge or make contact of any kind with the offensive player from the island area.

Two players from the same team may not be on the island at the same time. Player may bounce to a perimeter trampoline and reset himself on the island (not with the ball). (Penalty results in a change of possession.)

Player can only stay on the island for three seconds. (Penalty results in change of possession.)

A defender on the island may make incidental contact with an offensive player while going for a loose ball.

Offensive players may not attack the bottom trampoline from the island (eith or without the ball).

TRAVELING

No more than two steps after stoppage of dribble. (Penalty results in a change of possession.)

A player’s bounce into the trampoline does not count as a step.

An offensive player with the ball cannot be called for traveling when the defender’s contact causes an extra step. After contact, the offensive player’s dribble becomes live.

Offensive player may palm the ball while in the act of dribbling.

OPEN COURT

When making contact with an offensive player, the defender may only make contact from the waist up. On a body check, players may not extend thier arms above shoulder height. (Personal foul results in a face-off)

There is no tripping of a player at any time.

A player may not grab or hold another player.

Defender may only make contact with offensive player after the ball has been put on the ground. Only incidental contact is allowed before the dribble. Contact directly with the ball and the ball only, is not a foul. (Personal foul.)

Defender may make contact with the player after stoppage of dribble.

Hand checking is allowed, after the dribble starts but excessive hand checking considered a holding violation.

Held balls always go to the Defense.

Kicking the ball is illegal.

If a defender traps an offensive player against the glass it is considered a held ball. There will be a three second count. (Possession will be given to the defense.)

There can be no extension of the hands in a shoving motion, or drawing inward of players in a pulling motion. (Personal foul, can result in a face-off)

Out of bounds: After the ball goes out of bounds, possession will go to the team that has the possession arrow in thier favor.

After score: Teams must inbound the ball from the baseline. The baseline is considered to be the wood floor below the bottom trampolines. When receiving an inbounds pass the player must have two feet planted on the wood above the baseline. Defenders may enter the SlamZone to pick off the inbounds pass.

When a ball is put in place at half court, the player may pass or dribble the ball. The clock starts on the dribble or receipt of the pass.

FACE OFF

Face off occurs after a personal foul, with the offensive player attacking the basket, and the perpetrator of the foul defending the attack.

Offensive player must claim a trampoline of which to attack the basket.

Defender must approach the bottom trampoline from a trampoline opposite that claimed by the offensive player. If the offensive player elects to use the middle trampoline, the defender may choose which side to defend from.

Once pivot foot has moved, offensive player must attack basket. If pivot foot has moved and momentum has stopped, face off will be waived off and offense will retain possession of the ball at half court.

If defender is called for a violation on face off, another personal foul will be assessed and an automatic 3 points will be awarded to the offense. Offense will retain possession of the ball.

The offense gets the ball back at half court after a face off.

In the event of overtime the teams will settle the game via face offs. Each team will have the opportunity to have thier starting Stopper face the other three starting players from the other team. Any points scored will be added to the team’s final points. A discrepancy in the final score will be noted.

DISQUALIFICATION

A player is disqualified from play after 3 personal fouls or 2 technical fouls.

TECHNICAL FOULS

Technical fouls are assessed to players for unsportsmanlike conduct or defensive infraction where the team doesn’t have the ball. Player is assessed a technical foul and one more will eliminate him from play.

If there is excessive pushing, player will be charged with a technical foul. Player will also be charged with personal foul counting towards disqualification.

If punches are thrown, both players are ejected from the game.

POINTS

Slam-Dunks count as three points; all other shots count as two points. Shots from the outside area past the red line count as three points in the last two minutes of any game.

STOPPER

The Stopper is the last line of defense. The Stopper’s primary responsibility is defending the goal on all slams and field goal attempts. The Stopper also plays an important role in initiating the offensive transition.

HANDLER

The handler is the player whose primary role is to run the offense and handle the ball in the open court. They must be able to read the defense and initiate offensive sets quickly and effectively.

GUNNER

The Gunner is the player who is used as the primary scoring option both in a half-court set and in fat break situations.

SLAMZONE

The SlamZone is the area that houses the four trampolines and the island.

ISLAND

The island is the padded area in between the trampolines where a player can momentarily establish position to move the ball in an offensive set or to stop short in the SlamZone to move in a different direction.

POPCORN

Popcorn is when the defensive player disturbs the natural flow of an opposing player’s bounce in or out of a trampoline.

FACE OFF

A Face Off occurs after a personal foul. It is a one-on-one penalty shot in which the offensive player attacks the basket, and the perpetrator of the foul has to defend the rim in mid air.

DRIFTING

Drifting is an illegal move on the defensive end. Drifting is when the defender moves in a forward position while defending the rim.

“SLAMBALL 6”

The “SlamBall 6” are the original players who helped build SlamBall. These six players started SlamBall on a half court built out of spare parts and with only one trampoline. The players whom are part of the SlamBall 6 are Mason Gordon, Michael Goldman, James Willis, Sean Jackson, David Redmond, and Jeff Sheridan.

DUNK BAIT

SlamBall’s own version of a rookie.

MCNASTY

A 360-degree between the legs dunk from the outside trampoline. (A Sean “Inches” Jackson special.)

FLYING SQUIRREL

A dunk where the player jumps from the side trampoline extremely high, at the apex pitches his body forward into headfirst dive into the bottom trampoline, landing on his back. The bottom tramp then pops him up where he puts the ball through the legs and dunks it into the basket. (A Chris Robbins patented move.)
